Application and Speed Recommendations Carbide Burs


Basic Fluting Styles for Carbide Burs
6 Double Cut: Very efficient stock removal. Creates a small chip. Good finish. Excellent operator  control.
3 Single Cut: General purpose fluting. Produces long chips.
1 Nonferrous: For nonferrous materials. Aggressive stock removal.
3 SP Chip Breaker: Provides breakdown in chips. Better control.
4 Diamond Cut: For heat treated and tough alloy steels where control is important. Creates a powder-like chip.Excellent finish.
2 Coarse Cut: Provides large flute area for softer ferrous materials. Fast stock removal.
5 Fine Cut: For general use on hard materials requiring a fine finish.

Flute styles and recommendation

For optimum performance and extend life

•  ensure tools are firmly gripped by collects

•  Use grinding heads with adequate power, which run concerntrically without vibration

•  Use the recommeded spindle r.p.m

•  Apply controlled light cutting pressure with steady hand movement

•  Replace cutters before they become excessively worn

•  Keep tools in their protective containers before and after use

Blue Power carbide burrs are suitable for machining a wide variety of materials, such as aluminium, cast iron, alloy steels, nickle, brass, copper, bronze, stainless steels, titanium alloys, zinc alloys, various plastics, etc

Blue Power carbide burss are stocked throughout the rand in the double-cut flute style for speedy delivery

Double-cut fluting offers the best combination of performance, control and finish, for most metals

Aluminum and softer materials require a more open flute style, and for these we offer our standard Alu ?cut burrs

Blue Power carbide burrs can be used with both high frequency electric and air powered grinders, and will perform excellently in both handheld and machine tool operations provided the cutters are firmly gripped and the spindles run concentrically without vibration

Blue Power offers a regrind service which has been proved to cost effective for large consumers of the carbide burrs. A minimum quantity of 50 pieces per order is required

Blue Power stock sizes are shown with cod numbers. Unless otherwise specified all burrs will be supplied with double-cut fluing, except Alu-cut is demanded.
